What is LATIS?
LATIS stands for Liberal Arts Technologies & Innovation Services. It is an IT unit housed within the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota. LATIS provides liberal arts-specific expertise, facilities, and technology services to support the innovative work of the CLA community. We further the college’s mission by partnering with faculty, staff, and students to enhance learning, advance research and creative work, and improve processes.
WRC + LATIS
LATIS is a great asset for the Wearables Research Collaboratory. WRC strives to achieve collaborative research and innovate a novel approach to education. These new partnerships provided both departments essential resources and shared expertise.
LATIS supports the Wearables Research Collaborative by granting access technologies such as Google Cardboard and the RICOH Theta. Researchers are also aided by LATIS with vital technology services.
ETC Lab: LATIS-WRC Research Space
WRC researchers utilize the ETC Lab at LATIS to perform simulations and prototyping of innovation solutions for experiments and pedagogies.
